| They are made from UV grade synthetic
fused silica. They combine the mounting and acoustic isolation advantage
of a prism with the excellent transmission of this material. Because
the index of synthetic fused silica is somewhat lower than that
of BK 7, the critical angle for TIR is greater (thereby reducing
the TIR field acceptance) |
